The Book of Eli
Chapter I
1. God has spoken to me, without words, to my heart. He has told me that I am to teach a new faith.
2. My father gave me the name Eli. My legal name is not important. My person is not part of the teaching.
3. Throughout the ages the same wisdom has been taught.
4. Now the language has changed, and truth is given in the language of science.
5. Hear about the hidden time. Some think the hidden time is yet to come. The Kingdom of God does not come by observation. It is hidden in the inner dimension.
6. The hidden time is an eternity that runs through every moment. It is all time.
7. The hidden time is a thread, and moments are the beads on the thread.
Chapter II
1. Those of little understanding say the world will soon end. It is the current age that is coming to an end. The end of this age is the beginning of the next.
2. Focus on the beginning, not the end. Forget about earthquakes, comets, asteroids, and the like. The process proceeds in the inner dimension.
3. All of the truths of God are discoverable through science.
4. The inner dimension and the hidden time have already been discovered.
5. There is no truth without faith. We are faithful to verities. Nothing is proven except to the heart of one who believes.
6. Science has given us a great lie. It is this lie that ends the current age of faith in God.
7. The great lie that science has given us is that reality is material.
Chapter III
1. God has permitted the great lie for a short time only. That time is now coming to an end.
2. Believers in the lie! You have been raised on the milk of your concrete beliefs. Now it is time for you to be weaned to partake of the solid food of a new science.
3. The great lie is like a sword that has been thrust into the heart of humankind.
4. God is the one subject of reality. Take away the one subject and there is nothing real.
5. The truths of the one subject have already been discovered, but have not been accepted because they spell the death of the faith in the lie.
6. Humankind must no longer permit the lie to be taught to its children.
7. The new science will be established in our schools and through research and scholarship.
Chapter IV
1. The great lie can only be defeated by the new science. The sooner the new science is established by the institutions of the world, the sooner the suffering caused by the lie will end.
2. The new science is established by degrees.
3. The first degree is the truth of the one subject, which follows from the existence and the oneness of the universe, and from the ancient belief that God is all-knowing.
4. It is far easier to move a mountain than to move science by this one degree.
5. We have the power to move the mountain, if we have the faith that the mountain can be moved.
6. It is now that our faith is tested. The future of humankind hangs in the balance.
7. SEARCH GOD.
Chapter V
1. There is no greater crime than a crime against humanity.
2. There is no greater crime against humanity than usury.
3. The greatest violence, and the greatest threat to humanity, is the growth of money.
4. In the new faith, there is only one commandment. It is this commandment, and this commandment alone, that must be followed to end the times of suffering, which are soon to come.
5. FORSAKE USURY.
6. Those who have assets must withdraw them from the markets of loans. Do not accept notes of loan on speculation. Buy those things that provide food, water, clothing, shelter, and medical care for humankind.
7. The time will soon come when you will gain no profits from the markets of loans, and your wealth will be taken by the very few.
Chapter VI
1. Now hear of the new judgment.
2. You are judged many times more by what you do in groups then for what you do as individuals.
3. If one thousand of you participate in the murder of one child, then one thousand of you are a thousand times guilty.
4. You are judged many times more by what you give assent to others doing then what you do yourself.
5. If one million of you give assent to the one thousand who participate in the murder of a child, then one million of you are a million times guilty.
6. You are judged more by what you do passively then by what you do
actively.
7. If one billion of you watch and do not intercede as one million of you ascend to the one thousand who participate in the murder of a child, then one billion of you are a billion times guilty.
Chapter VII
1. Justice is paramount. The new judgment is the justice of the hidden time.
2. No crime is a means to an end. No crime can be rationalized.
3. The murder of a child has no justification, even if the bombs have missed their mark.
4. The starvation of a child has no justification, even if the crops have failed, or the population is too large.
5. Act correctly. Incorrect action cannot be justified by incorrect action. An incorrect action taken to cover an incorrect action is doubly incorrect.
6. Cleave to the common good. We are all responsible for bringing about the time of great suffering, for its continuing, and for its ending.
7. There is nothing hidden in the hidden time. Know that this, the hidden time, is your everlasting, and live.
